The Seamaster Diver 300M has shipped on rubber and NATO straps from the factory for years, and the version James Bond wore in No Time to Die was on a NATO, not steel. Rubber is not an upgrade you are talking yourself into here. It is the watch's native habitat. This guide covers how to do it properly.
Why the Diver 300M Works So Well on Rubber
The Seamaster Diver 300M is a dedicated tool watch: unidirectional ceramic bezel, helium escape valve, 300m water resistance, and a case shaped for the water rather than the desk. Omega itself treats rubber as a first-class option on this reference, not an aftermarket compromise. A precision-fitted strap simply does properly what the stock rubber option does adequately.
Material: FKM Rubber
Our Seamaster strap is FKM fluoroelastomer, the same rubber used in aerospace and motorsport for its resistance to heat, sweat, saltwater and UV. It holds its shape and colour far longer than the standard rubber used on most factory and aftermarket straps, and it will outlast a season of pool, sea and sun without cracking or fading.
Fit: Lug Width and Case Compatibility
The modern Diver 300M comes in two sizes that matter here: the 42mm case (ref. 210.xx) and the 41mm case (ref. 212.xx). Both take a 20mm lug width and both are covered by our strap.
Two sizes are not: the 38mm case and the 43.5mm and larger variants, including the Diver 300M Chronograph and GMT. These use different lug widths and case architecture, and our strap will not sit flush on them. Check your reference number before ordering.
What This Guide Does Not Cover
"Seamaster" is a family name, not one watch. The Aqua Terra and Planet Ocean lines are also Seamasters, but they use different case shapes, different lug geometry in places, and a dressier design language than the Diver 300M. This guide, and our current strap, is built specifically for the Diver 300M case. If you own an Aqua Terra or Planet Ocean, get in touch before ordering rather than assuming fit.
Colour
- Black: the correct choice for the black ceramic bezel models, and close to how Omega's own rubber option looks from the factory.
- Blue: pairs with the blue dial and bezel references, including the watch most people picture when they hear "Bond Seamaster."
- Green: the newer bezel colour on recent Diver 300M references, and increasingly the one collectors reach for first.
